London Pioneers College Basketball League rules
1. League & Game Rules
1.01 All games will be played under normal FIBA rules, unless otherwise stated
1.1 Games are to be 10 min quarters (stopping clock) unless otherwise agreed by both teams because of time constraints
1.2 Winning team will be awarded 3 points , losing team will be awarded 0 points
1.3 For the league standings if teams are level on points, then the average of points scored per game will be the decider
1.4 When Team colours clash home team colours prevail
1.5 No player can play without the team registration (see also point 2.7)
1.6 All players must be full or part time students at the college/school for whom they are playing
1.7 The Official Team sheets will only be available through the website and should be printed for the game. Only players on that team sheet are allowed to play, unless the coach has a supporting email from London Pioneers to say otherwise.
1.8 There is to be at least one referee and one table official at each game
2. League Fixtures & Administration
2.1 Once all teams have registered the fixture list will be sent out by London Pioneers to all coaches/team managers
2.2 All Fixtures can then to be rearranged by the colleges/schools to a time and venue that is more convenient and agreed by both teams.
2.3 London Pioneers must be informed of the agreed dates and venues as soon as possible so the website can be maintained.
2.4 Failure to arrive or cancel the fixture without 24 hours notice given to the opposition will result in a 20-0 victory for the non-offending side. London Pioneers will take up any disputed decisions and the decision will be final.
2.5 All results must be emailed to tlazare@londonpioneers.com and bill@londonpioneers.com within 24 hours of the result. Coaches can include a match report as well which will also be posted on the website.
2.6 All promotion and publicity relating to the League must include the Full Title – "London Pioneers College Basketball League"
2.7 All players must be registered by the Coach/team manager via London Pioneers web site http://www.londonpionners.com A team must register by October 31st 2008 (additional players can be registered at any stage of the season, but not within 48 hours of any fixture).
2.8 To register additional players an email must be sent to Tony Lazare
2.9 All officiating costs will be divided equally by the two colleges playing who should pay the officials directly
2.10 Membership fee’s are £150 and are to be paid by 01/11/09. Please make cheque payable to: London Pioneers Basketball ltd
2.11 Each team must provide a team picture that will appear on the Team’s page on the website. Additionally all team coaches and registered team players must give their permission for game and team photos to be displayed on the London Pioneers website which is solely for the purpose of event reporting and promotion of the London Pioneer College Basketball league. (As a registered Club of England Basketball London Pioneers follow the EB guidelines for the use of Photographic and Recorded images for people under the age of 18)
3. League Structure
3.1 This is determined by London Pioneers and is dependent on the number of teams in the league.
3.2 There will be an End of Season Tournament (organised by London Pioneers) at a neutral court where all teams will compete for the London Pioneer Cup
3.3 Failure to comply with league rules could lead to points deduction from the offending team(s)
